VILLANOVA, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — An investigation is underway into several incidents of sexual assault that allegedly occurred at Villanova University over the weekend.
According to a written statement from Villanova, four female students on Monday reported being assaulted by the same known male student. They say that male student is no longer on campus and the University has launched an investigation.
In a separate written communication sent to students, faculty and staff, the university revealed complaints ranged from non-consensual touching to non-consensual intercourse.
Villanova University also said they received notification from Bryn Mawr Hospital's emergency department on Sunday that one of their students was treated for a sexual assault by a man that she knew. They reported that incident took place sometime between Friday and Sunday.
The university did not indicate whether that assault was one of the four reported to the school on Monday and if the same man was responsible. Exactly where the assaults occurred, university officials said, is currently unknown.
