PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Villanova University is warning students and staff about a previous prowler on campus after investigators learned he took photos of students from outside their dorms.

In a safety update issued Tuesday, the university said a man, 40-year-old Eugene Hammen, was arrested in May for loitering outside a dorm hall. Authorities said he was the same man who broke into an unoccupied dorm in October of last year.

After his arrest, investigators discovered Hammen took pictures of several female students from outside residence halls. Those students have been identified and notified by police.

Hammen was charged with burglary, invasion of privacy, and loitering and prowling at night. He is currently not incarcerated.

David Tedjeske, Villanova director of public safety and chief of police, said Hammen has no affiliation with the university and has been issued a no-trespass order to stay off campus.

Safety officials said in both campus incidents, he was driving a 2014 dark blue Ford Transit van with the tag KFA1486.

Officials say they have no reason to believe Hammen will return to campus, but they are asking students to keep their blinds closed and their doors locks.
