PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Wally, an emotional support alligator from Jonestown, Pennsylvania, is missing.

Joie Henney, Wally’s caretaker, reported he was stolen from his enclosure on April 21 between 4:30 and 7 a.m. while he was visiting Georgia.

Henney said “walking searches have been conducted to no avail” since he was taken.

A GoFundMe has been set up for travel costs, advising costs and possible legal and veterinary costs. About $5,000 has been raised so far.

Henney said a reward will be given for Wally’s return, no questions asked.

Wally was rescued from a Florida lagoon in 2015. Henney, who battles depression, adopted Wally. He used affection, hugs and kisses to help bring calm to the out-of-its-element reptile.

Wally has spent time at malls, senior centers, and even parades.

In 2022, Wally went viral when Philly residents posted him walking and splashing around in the fountains at LOVE Park.
