PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Workers at Center City's Warwick Hotel will stay on the job after reaching a new contract with hotel management.

Members unanimously ratified the deal on Thursday. It happened just hours before the midnight strike deadline, according to Unite Here Local 274.

The new contract boosts wages to $30 an hour for non-tipped employees, improves access to healthcare for dependents and adds new protections for immigrant workers.

The Warwick joins five other hotels, including the Hampton Inn Center City and Wyndham Historic District, in reaching new contracts with the union.

Workers at the Sheraton Downtown hotel on 17th and Race streets are on strike for a fifth day.

Union leaders said workers there are fighting for a $30 per-hour wage by 2028 and access to family healthcare. Demonstrators marched from the Sheraton to the Warwick on Wednesday afternoon ahead of a bargaining meeting between labor leaders and hotel management.
