PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is facing murder charges after a shooting Friday in West Philly.

Police say two men were fighting over a parking spot on 54th and Locust streets in Cobbs Creek during rush hour when the suspect shot the other man.

The victim tried to speed away but crashed his car into a nearby business. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Neighbors like Kim Clark say they are not surpised by what unfolded.

Clark told told our partners at NBC10 she's "numb to the violence."

"No its not surprising... it's really disgusting."

She added that the violence is out of control and she sees no way out.

"I don't know what the city can do because people have no compassion," Clark said. "They don't care."

Sakhar Muhammad also lives in the area and says he tries to avoid any trouble as best he can by just going to work and coming straight home.

"You get caught over the stupidest things, Muhammad said. "You get shot, you get whatever over the dumbest things."

Police say they arrested the suspect, whose identity they have not yet revealed, and recovered the gun.
