MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of his girlfriend in their Perkiomen Township apartment.
Pennsylvania State Police were called to the residence on Gravel Pike just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday for a report of a possibly dead woman. When troopers arrived, they found 34-year-old Jessica Zipkin with a fatal wound to the back of her head and a bloody hammer next to her body.
Police say surveillance video from inside the building shows 46-year-old William Carey discarding several pieces of clothing and a pair of shoes.
Investigators say those items were recovered and appeared to have blood on them.
Carey has been charged with first-and third-degree murder and is being held without bail.
