Woman dies days after massive apartment building fire in Camden County

The building has been deemed uninhabitable, displacing about 100 residents

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A woman has died from her injuries days after a massive fire destroyed a South Jersey apartment complex.

The fire broke out around 2:15 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Autumn Ridge Apartments on Little Gloucester Road in Camden County. It took crews from eight departments nearly four hours to get it under control.

Six people were taken to the hospital, including a firefighter who suffered minor burns. Five of them are in stable condition. One woman succumbed to her injuries, Gloucester Township police announced on Tuesday.

About 100 residents were displaced, and the apartment building has since been declared uninhabitable. Affected tenants are receiving assistance from the Red Cross.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire, but they said it does not appear suspicious.
