PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A woman hit a man in the head with a machete after he sexually assaulted her in a Philadelphia hotel, according to police.
In a preliminary report, police said a 24-year-old woman was sexually assaulted inside a hotel in the Callowhill section of the city, near 12th and Vine streets. Around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, officials said the woman hit the 43-year-old man in his head with a machete.
Both of them were taken to the hospital. Police said the man is stable and is being treated as a prisoner at the hospital.
The woman's condition has not been released.
Officers recovered the weapon, but it remains unclear who it belonged to or where it came from.
An investigation is ongoing.
