Woman killed in hit-and-run near Allegheny El stop

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A woman was killed in a hit-and-run near the Allegheny El stop in Kensington early Wednesday morning.

Just before 2:30 a.m. near Kensington and Allegheny avenues, police officers found an unresponsive woman suffering from head trauma in the street.

Medics took her to Temple University Hospital, where she died about two hours later.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim, but they believe she was between 40 and 50 years old.
