PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are searching for a group of people caught on video assaulting a woman during a rowdy illegal car meetup in South Philly nearly two months ago.
Police say on Sept. 22, around 1:30 a.m., hundreds of people and vehicles flooded Washington Avenue and South 25th Street, vandalizing private property.
After hearing loud noises and smelling burning tires, a woman who lives nearby looked outside and saw people standing on her car. She went outside to confront them, and that’s when Police Inspector Ray Evers said a woman struck her in the back and a man hit her with a traffic barrel, which knocked her to the ground.

Moments later, police say a man pointed a gun at the woman. A shot was fired in the air as she was being attacked.

“We are not stopping this investigation whatsoever. We're looking into every video, every Instagram,” Evers said.
So far, police have arrested 10 people and served more than 50 search warrants to find out who was involved in these car meets.
