PHILADELPHIA (Audacy) — The executive order President Joe Biden put in place last week mandating the COVID-19 vaccine for all federal workers will not apply to members of Congress, the federal court system or their staffers.

The order that Biden handed out on Thursday drops the option for federal workers and contractors to get the COVID-19 vaccine and only allows some religious and disability exemptions.

However, the only federal employees affected by this mandate are those who work in the executive branch. The order does not apply to the legislative or judicial branches of the government, the White House confirmed.
