PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Daniel is a sweet 10-year-old boy who tackles many of life’s challenges with a smile.

His recruiter, Emily Benanchietti, is trying to find the best match for the third-grader with special needs.

“Daniel is a nonverbal, total-care needs child, so he will be a lifelong commitment for any family who has it in their heart to adopt him,” she said.

Daniel attends a specialized school year-round that tends to his learning needs.

He loves music, enjoys being outdoors and is drawn to his sensory light wall and toys that make noise and light up. He brightens up the room with his warm smile and quickly warms up to people, even if he’s just meeting them for the first time.

Despite his challenges, Daniel enjoys many activities. He likes having his hand held, and his favorite music is Kidz Bop. You can certainly tell his likes and dislikes as he expresses his feelings through his facial expressions.

Daniel is looking for a family who can love him, include him in their everyday activities and take him for a walk around in nature.

“Despite the fact that he won’t have the same experiences as other children,” Benanchietti added, “he would still be an amazing addition to anybody’s family because of the love that he can bring.”
