PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Devin is a loving, giving and driven 17-year-old who often shines light on others, even when asked about himself.

He gave a shoutout to his social worker Ryan DeCarolis and called him his hero.

"Mr. Ryan's been with me since I was 10 years old, through thick and thin," said Devin.

DeCarolis than turned the tables on Devin.

"What Devin doesn't know is that he's my hero,” said DeCarolis. “Because the way he goes about life and carries himself is truly remarkable.”

Devin is a remarkable teen who is full of gratitude for what he has accomplished in life and what he is hoping to become.

"I love helping people. That's my goal, to become a doctor. I want to become a doctor and help lots of kids," Devin explained.

Devin is missing one thing in his life, and that's a family to build new memories.

That special family would surely become the next heroes in Devin's life.

"I always wanted a family," said Devin.
