PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Grace is a delightful teenager who makes an impression on anyone who meets her.

She wants to become a zoologist when she grows up because she loves animals — sometimes more than she likes people.

“They are comforting,” she said. “They don’t judge. People nowadays judge others and think it’s cool, and it’s not. Everybody’s different in their own way and that’s the uniqueness of the world.”

Grace’s humor and openness provide a window into a 19-year-old who is as comical as she is insightful.

Jennifer DiBella, Grace’s social worker, calls her amazing.

“She’s just so funny when she’s in a room,” she said. “She keeps everybody laughing. She’s very creative, very, very kind, always wants to help, a very sweet girl, likes to write stories, very imaginative.”

Grace has been on a search for a permanent and loving home but hasn’t found the right one yet. The only stipulation is that they bring the type of love to her that she plans to bring to them.

“Kindness,” said Grace. “It doesn’t matter their race. It doesn’t matter to me. People are people. If they want to love me and care for me and cherish me, that’s all that matters.”
