PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Rashad is a friendly 17-year-old who is the ultimate nice guy and as respectful as they come.

All he has ever wanted is a family who can provide warmth, security and a safe haven.

“A respectful and caring family,” he added. “That’s all I could ask for.”

Rashad is a resilient young man who has overcome past trauma. He plans to go to college to study video game design once he graduates high school.

He is interested in becoming a YouTuber as well as spreading a message of hope.

“To be able to tell people how I grew up and maybe they don’t have to grow up the same way I grew up,” he said.

His social worker, Rachel DeMarco, describes Rashad has having a loving nature.

“Very determined and is just going to go after whatever he wants to do,” she said. “He’s just so sweet and loving and really cares.”
