While in town promoting her film Emilia Pérez at the Telluride Film Festival, a handwritten bright orange poster board sign, tapped to bulletin board on Main Street, apparently caught Selena's eye. And she simply felt the need to oblige.

The sign, addressed to “Selena Gomez,” read “Please sing the National Anthem at one of [our] home games: Fri 6:00pm, Sat 1:00 ~ THS Volleyball Team.”

“They asked!! Couldn’t help it, it’s my first time in Telluride!,” Selena, captioned her post featuring a series of snaps and vids of herself at one of the meets. In one of the clips SelGo even explained what got her to show up — as she noted, “I saw the sign!”

While it’s unclear whether Gomez actually performed the national anthem, she still gets major points for accepting the invite, meeting students, signing autographs, and posing for pics with the team.
