Swift made the announcement on Friday night (5/5) to a stadium full of Swifties in Nashville as she played the first of three nights in Music City for The Eras Tour.
"It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my version of Speak Now will be out July 7 (just in time for July 9th, iykyk),” Taylor wrote on Instagram referring to a date she sings about in the song, “Last Kiss.”
“I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20,” she continued. “The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing … and living to speak about it.”
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), arriving July 7, will be the third re-release of six that Taylor has planned in an effort to regain artistic control of her music. It follows Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version), which both released in 2021.
With each re-release the singer-songwriter also unveils never-before-heard songs that didn’t make the original album. Taylor has promised six of those bonus songs will be included on Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).
The album is available to pre-order now at TaylorSwift.com.
