The Padres dropped their fourth consecutive game on Saturday night, losing to the White Sox 4-0. It was a low scoring affair through the first five innings, as neither team could push across a run against Michael King or White Sox starter Sean Burke. King ran into some trouble in the 6th inning, yielding a 2-run single to Miguel Vargas after allowing a walk and a bunt single. King returned to pitch the 7th inning, and that's when things really got dicey, as he allowed a leadoff single to Chase Meidroth, followed by a double to Sam Antonacci and an RBI-single to Edward Quero, before exiting the game. Bradgley Rodriguez entered, and retired all three batters he faced, though a run did score on Chicago's safety squeeze. The Padres put together their best chance of the night in the bottom of the 9th, loading the bases with no outs for Gavin Sheets while trailing 4-0. But Sheets struck out on an overturned ball call thanks to ABS. Miguel Andujar then flew out to shallow right field, and Luis Campusano struck out swinging to end the game. The Padres will send Randy Vasquez to the mound on Sunday with a chance to avoid being swept at home.
