In the summer of 2007 Megan Holiday attended BFD for the first time and knew in that moment she wanted to somehow be a part of this iconic radio station. In 2010 Megan joined LIVE105 as a sidekick on the Free For All night show, the very first user controlled radio program. Not long after that Megan began doing her own show on the weekends and fell in love with the craft. This lead to hosting nights, middays and eventually Megan & Menace in the Morning. The scale and lineup’s of LIVE105’s events such as BFD and Not So Silent Night blew her mind. She got to play ping pong with Deftones (her favorite band) and interview Jack White in his dressing room backstage at Outside Lands. All of Megan’s wildest dreams were coming true! One of her fondest memories was Not So Silent Night 2011 when Jane’s Addiction had to cancel due to an emergency and Aaron Axelsen called Green Day mere hours before the gig in hopes they could save the day. Green Day showed up to Oracle Arena and played Dookie in its entirety! LIVE105 means so much to bands, who’s songs were first played on the station, and to the Bay Area fans who miss the music and events that brings all of us together. When the format switched to ALT1053 Megan was happy to be back with her Bay Area listeners but always hoped the mighty LIVE105 would some day return. She was the last voice on ALT1053 before switching to DaveFM and now she will be the first voice back to proudly announce those iconic call letters, LIVE105. To say that she is beyond thrilled would be an understatement.
