Some childhood stars continue their success in Hollywood, but others entirely leave the spotlight.
Jonathan Taylor Thomas, the '90s heartthrob and one of the stars of the hit sitcom "Home Improvement," was seen in public for the first time in several years, People reported.
The 39-year-old former child star was photographed in Los Angeles while walking his dogs. Thomas kept it comfy in the photos, out in a New York Mets cap, gray zip-up sweater and jeans.
In recent years, Thomas has maintained a low profile and stayed out of the spotlight.
The actor starred as Randy Taylor in “Home Improvement” when the sitcom, which first premiered on ABC in 1991. Tim Allen starred as Jonathan’s character’s father while Jonathan played the comedian’s middle child for all eight seasons.
In 1998 when the sitcom began its eighth and final season, Jonathan didn’t return due to taking time off and finishing school. His last episode was “Adios,” which aired on Sept. 29, 1998. The show wrote his absence in by having Randy leave home for an environmental study program in Costa Rica.
After the series came to an end in 1999, the actor had big-screen roles in the “Lion King” and “Walking Across Egypt.” He also had guest-starring roles on shows including “Smallville,” “Veronica Mars” and “8 Simple Rules.”
His last acting role was on Allen’s sitcom, “Last Man Standing,” in 2015. He also directed four episodes of the series.
