Elon Musk will make his “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut when the show returns next month.

But the mogul’s turn as emcee of the famed sketch comedy show is igniting some controversial comments among its cast, CNBC reports.

Over the weekend, NBC announced the lineup for the return of the show’s 46th season in a tweet. The SpaceX and Tesla CEO will host the May 8 episode, which will feature Miley Cyrus as musical guest.

It will be the billionaire tech entrepreneur’s first time hosting the sketch comedy show, which is currently on hiatus.

“Saturday Night Live’s” decision to book Musk has drawn controversy across the internet, including from cast members of the show.

Bowen Yang commented on one of Musk’s tweets about this future appearance.

Over the weekend, Musk tweeted, “Let’s find out just how live Saturday Night Live really is.”

Yang responded on his Instagram Story with a screenshot of the tweet, and the question: “What the f— does that even mean?”

Andrew Dismukes, another cast member, also chimed in on Instagram, sharing a photo of show alum Cheri Oteri with the caption, “ONLY CEO I WANT TO DO A SKETCH WITH IS Cher-E Oteri.”

In response to the news, cast member Aidy Bryant shared a tweet about wealth inequality from Sen. Bernie Sanders which read: “The 50 wealthiest people in America today own more wealth than the bottom half of our people.” Elon Musk is the second richest billionaire in the world, according to Forbes.

The Sanders tweet continued: "Let me repeat that, because it is almost too absurd to believe: the 50 wealthiest people in this country own more wealth than some 165 MILLION Americans. That is a moral obscenity."

"SNL" writer Sudi Green also shared a screenshot of the barbed Sanders tweet.

CNBC reports that “Saturday Night Live” was not available for a statement in response to these cast reactions.
