Perhaps the biggest free agent the Patriots had is moving on.
According to his agent Mike McCartney, Joe Thuney is signing a five-year deal with the Chiefs. NFL Media's Ian Rapoport adds it's worth $80 million.
This doesn't come as much of a surprise, but there was a report earlier on Monday that the Patriots had reached out to Thuney's camp hoping to keep him.
Thuney is one of the most durable offensive linemen in the league, as he hasn't missed a single game in his five-year career. It is also worth noting he has some versatility being able to play every position on the offensive line, but spent most of his time in New England at left guard.
Thuney will now protect Patrick Mahomes following four years of protecting Tom Brady.
