Ready for a new take on an old favorite? Me too! I am always trying to find new ways to make something better and for my family this is the ultimate way to eat banana pudding! Now obviously, this is not for everyone...especially those with any kind of peanut allergy! If you are allergy free and ready to take your banana pudding up a notch, join me on this journey!
My only issue with this dessert is that it does take some prep time...it isn't a quick one to throw together on the way out the door. You have to chop bananas and prepare the pudding mixture before assembling. The pudding is very custard like because of the added can of sweetened condensed milk. This added ingredient can be omitted if you so choose...just follow the recommended amount of milk on the package of instant pudding mix. I cannot stress enough to make sure you buy INSTANT pudding haha ask me how I know (insert eye roll here!). I add a little bit of melted peanut butter to my pudding mixture as well to give it more of a peanut butter taste.
Once you get everything prepped, it's time to assemble! I always start with cookies so they get nice and soft, then pudding, bananas and whipped cream...repeat until you've used all of your products! I like to save a few nutter butters to throw on top for presentation but you do you! Now this does have to be chilled in the refrigerator for a least an hour before serving so you will need to factor that in! I like to chill it for as long as possible to allow the cookies to get soft! This is my most requested dessert that I make...I just made one for a teacher pot luck at my husband's school a few weeks ago! let me know what you think and if you have a fun way to make banana pudding, I want to hear it!!
