Are you ready to shake up your dessert game? Head to The Crazy Mason milkshake bar in downtown Greenville! The newest dessert destination opened across from the Greenville Drive stadium in August but it’s already built up quite a delicious reputation thanks to their amazing over the top milkshake concoctions. They have over 30 milkshakes on the menu to choose from but they are more than just milkshakes; you can get everything from a single scoop of ice cream to a miniature version of their signature shakes! If it’s on the menu, they will make it for you…want to switch out an ice cream flavor? Done! Want just a slice of cheesecake with strawberries on it? You got it!

After having a stellar day at school, I brought my daughter Ella in with me to give The Crazy Mason a try and oh man did it live up to the hype! Upon walking in, you are immediately greeted by the cutest murals, delicious smells and the friendliest smiles. We sat down with one of the owners to learn about all The Crazy Mason had to offer before making the tough choice of which milkshakes we were going to try…did I mention it’s locally owned?!? Supporting local businesses is one of our favorite things to do! I mentioned before that there are 30 signature milkshake creations on the menu but there are also crazy cups, crazy cookie bombs and even just single scoops of ice cream if you aren’t feeling adventurous. They even offer dairy free and sugar free options…definitely something for everyone!
After much debate, Ella and I decided on “Mint to Be” and “Crazy Cookie Dreams” for our milkshakes…they were even more delicious than they looked and they looked pretty fabulous! Ella’s “Mint to Be” shake contained mint chocolate chip ice cream in a chocolate-swirled jar with a chocolate fudge rim rolled in crushed Andes mints, topped with a mint fudge brownie and crushed Andes mints and then finished off with chocolate whipped icing!! My love for Oreos won out and I got “Crazy Cookie Dreams” which was cookies ‘n’ cream ice cream in a chocolate-swirled jar with a vanilla buttercream rim rolled in Cookie Dirt, topped with two Oreo cookies, a Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Cream bar, Cookie Dirt and then finished with chocolate sauce and chocolate whipped icing! Yep-you guessed it…they were amazing!! The shakes are served in mason jars of course but these are custom mason jars that you get to rinse out and take home with you. There are several designs to choose from including a “Happy Birthday” jar and even seasonal jars! They have the cutest Halloween and Fall jars right now…go get them before they are gone though because once they sell out, they are gone! There is even a signature Greenville themed mason jar that accompanies the “Yeah, that milkshake” that celebrates our town and features the Liberty Bridge. They work with a local small business to make the sugar cookies and Poppington’s Popcorn for the topping!

The Crazy Mason is definitely a dessert destination that needs to be on your must visit list. According to Ella it was “the prettiest and most delicious" milkshake she’s ever had! Gather up your family and friends and head downtown this weekend to check it out! In addition to serving up delicious desserts, they also do birthday parties and school spirit nights! For now, The Crazy Mason is open 7 days a week and is located directly across from Fluor Field, 942 South Main St. Downtown Greenville, SC.
