During a recent Audacy Check In, McRae revealed one of the ways she keeps herself in a good mental health space is by staying off social media and is encouraging others to do the same.

“Get off of social media and focus on yourself,” she said after sharing how helpful the change has been for her. “Learn more about yourself, I think that’s the best way to live life — to try and learn as much as you can about others and yourself. Your real reality, not just the one on your phone.”

While McRae acknowledges staying off social won’t cure everything, she also reminded fans there’s no shame In speaking up when they’re struggling.

“I think it’s so important to express yourself and express your emotions — you can’t keep bottling it up forever,” she shared. “You gotta let it out somehow and it’s not embarrassing or cringey ever.”
