§     The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a major statement about their future in the royal family.

§     They announced on Instagram that they are taking a step back as senior members of the royal family.

§     They also said that they are working to “become financially independent” and that they have the full support of Queen Elizabeth II.

§     They say they plan to balance their time between the UK and North America in an effort to raise baby Archie with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing their family with space to focus on the next chapter.

§     There’s speculation that they plan to move to Canada.

§     Buckingham Palace sent out their own statement saying that discussions are at an early stage and that there are complicated issues that will take time to work through.

§     Survey: The workplace is getting much more casual.

§     90% of managers believe that over the past decade, the bar for business casual has gone way down.

§     More than half said that using foul language and bringing pets to the office have become more acceptable.

§     30% say that using emojis and casual lingo in work emails is also acceptable.

§     And over a third of managers say tattoos, nontraditional piercings, casual dress and dyed hair are now considered sufficiently professional.

§     Some behavior is still off-limits…putting up political décor, watching and discussing political events, playing music without headphones and streaming sporting events remains unacceptable behavior for most.

 

#Grammys

§     Music’s biggest night is coming up on January 26th.

§     The Recording Academy announced some of the artists that will be performing at the Grammys this year.

§     Billie Eilish, Lizzo and Aerosmith will all be performing.

§     Also, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani will take the stage together.

§     Music’s Biggest Night is taking place at the Staples Center and will be hosted by Alicia Keys.

§     “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” is returning to ABC.

§     This time Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting.

§     A 20th anniversary edition of the show will premiere in April and it will feature celebrity contestants playing for charity.

§     The show ended its long-running daytime version last May.

§     Some changes this time including the celebrity “Millionaire” will be allowed to invite a guest in the hot seat to help them answer questions.

§     And there will be a “play-along app” that will allow viewers to compete to win the same amount of money.
