Her new song with Ariana Grande called “Rain On Me” just dropped.
She says the song is “a metaphor for tears and the amount of alcohol I was taking to numb myself. I’d rather be dry but at least I’m alive, rain on me.”
She also said that working with Ariana was a “very healing process” and that it was refreshing for her to collaborate with a female artist who didn’t mentor her during her early days.
She also said it took time for her to open up to Ariana because of all the shame and fear she was dealing with amid her mental health struggles.
Ariana has dealt with a lot of trauma and eventually called her out, telling her she was hiding, and that is where their friendship blossomed.
The song appears on her “Chromatica” album which comes out May 29th.
