    • The band formerly known as the Dixie Chicks has changed their name.
    • Natalie Maines, Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire made the decision amid nationwide protests for racial justice.
    • The word “Dixie” is a nickname for the Civil War-era South and the ladies said in a statement, “We want to meet this moment.”
    • There was already a 1960s pop group from New Zealand called The Chicks and the band said, “A sincere and heartfelt thanks goes out to ‘The Chicks’ of NZ for their gracious gesture in allowing us to share their name. We are honored to co-exist together in the world with these exceptionally talented sisters. Chicks Rock!”
    • Their first album in 14 years “Gaslighter” comes out on July 17th.
  • #SplashMountain
    • Disney will “reimagine” the ride after fans petitioned them to retheme it because it is currently based on “Song of the South,” the company’s most controversial movie.
    • It will now be themed as a “Princess and the Frog” ride.
    • The ride first opened in Disneyland in 1989. Two more Splash Mountains opened at Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland in 1992.
    • Disney says the new concept will be “one that all of our guests can connect with and be inspired by.”
  • #CharliePuth
    • The singer has released his first solo song of 2020.
    • The song is called “Girlfriend” and Charlie says the song is about being persistent and “letting someone know that your feelings for them aren’t going to just go away.”
    • Some think this song is a contender for Song of the Summer.
    • And if you’re wondering if Charlie has found his soulmate, he hasn’t. He says, “I’m single if you’re wondering.”
  • #ThankYouMama
    • A new TikTok star is born and it is a very polite 2-year old.
    • The account @greayandmama posts videos of her son saying “thank you, mama” every time she hands him food.
    • And it’s more than his cute response…his genuine happiness and facial expressions after receiving things like strawberry milk, tacos, salad and noodles.
    • One TikTok user commented, “That food look fire tho, I would say thank you too.”
