U.S. pediatricians are calling for in-person school this fall.
The American Academy of Pediatrics’ guidance “strongly advocates that all policy consideration for the coming school year should start with a goal of having students physically present in school.”
They also say that “schools are fundamental to child and adolescent development and well-being.”
The AAP also cites “mounting evidence” that transmission of the coronavirus by young children is uncommon, partly because they are less likely to contract it in the first place.
Based on the nation’s experience this spring, they say remote learning is likely to result in severe learning loss and increased social isolation.

The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards will be one of the first ceremonies that will not be held virtually due to the pandemic.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a press conference yesterday that the VMAs are going to take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, with limited or no audience present on Sunday, August 30th.
They are adamant about the precautions being made to put on the show, noting they would include extensive social distancing procedures, meaningful capacity limitations, and virtualization of components were possible.

He’s unveiled a new “Shaq-sized pizza” at Papa John’s with double the cheese and pepperoni.
It’s called the Shaq-a-roni.
It’s an extra-large pizza topped with extra mozzarella and extra pepperoni compared to a traditional Papa John’s extra-large pizza.
One dollar of each pizza sold will be donated to the Papa John’s Foundation for Building Community to support COVID-19 relief, the fight against racial injustice, Boys & Girls Club of America, UNCF (United Negro College Fund) and general community involvement."
