o   All hail the M’VP!!

o   Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson became the second player in WNBA history to win the Most Valuable Player award and it was unanimous!

o   She earned all 67 first-place votes from a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters.

o   This is her third MVP, also getting the honors in 2020 and 2022.

o   This season she averaged 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game.

o   She also became the first player to score 1000 points in a season.

o   She found out about the win in a team meeting as Coach Becky Hammon took a call and put it on speaker.

o   She told her team, “I cannot thank you all enough. I hope you guys understand how much you mean to me. I hope you guys know that this trophy is nothing without y’all. We’ve been through the ringer – and we gon’ continue to go through the ringer – but one thing y’all don’t ever have to worry about is A’ja going anywhere.”

o   Last night the Aces beat, the Seattle Storm 67 - 78 in game one of the first round of the WNBA playoffs.

o   They play them again on Tuesday at the Michelob Ultra Arena.
