o Alec Baldwin broke into tears after his involuntary manslaughter trial was dropped on Friday.
o The actor was charged in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, after a gun he was handling for the movie "Rust" was discharged with live ammunition in 2021.
o The judge dismissed the case after it came to light that prosecutors potentially buried evidence that could’ve revealed how live ammunition was on the set.
o Baldwin’s lawyers claim that a man connected to "Rust" armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed turned over ammunition to authorities that he believed connected to the case.
o They also claim that prosecutors “didn’t preserve those bullets…didn’t collect them at all [or] turn them over.”
o The ammunition handed over was filed separately from other "Rust" evidence and prosecutor Kari T. Morrissey was apparently involved in that decision.
