o The country superstar and national treasure has asked Tennessee lawmakers not to erect a statue of her on Capitol grounds.
o She released a statement that said in part, “Given all that is going on in the world, I don’t think putting me on a pedestal is appropriate at this time.”
o She added that she would like the statue to happen one day, “several years from now or perhaps after I’m gone, “if people still think she deserves it.”
o Rep John Windle, who introduced the bill said, “I believe it’s totally appropriate. I certainly respect her wishes but I’m gonna give her fans a chance to change her mind. Because she’s wrong. She does deserve this.”

o The Vegas Golden Knights have made the trek up north for the for the Honda NHL Outdoors game in Lake Tahoe.
o They will be facing the Colorado Avalanche.
o Both games will be played without spectators due to the pandemic but the hockey world will be watching from afar as the Golden Knights take to the outdoor ice for the first time.
o Coach Peter DeBoer said he doesn’t expect Robin Lehner to make the trip but he’s improving every day and expects him to be back sooner than later.

o YouTube is getting ready to launch a beta version of its TikTok competitor, Shorts, next month.
o Their chief product officer said in a blog post that the YouTube team will be giving more creators access to Shorts in the United States.
o The feature has seen success in India for the last several months.
o TikTok can use the competition as they’ve seen continuous spikes in users.
o The pandemic had a lot to do with it as most people were looking for entertainment as they’ve been at home. Their user base has tripled since 2018.
