· Jennifer Lopez called out Today host Craig Melvin during a live interview Monday after he asked about her divorce from Ben Affleck while she was promoting her new film Kiss of the Spider Woman.
· Melvin said, “In the middle of filming this elaborate, beautiful musical, your divorce was also finalized with Ben,” prompting Lopez to respond with a playful, “There you go! Look at this guy!”
· She later acknowledged that Affleck helped produce the film, saying, “If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have gotten made. And I will always give him that credit.”
· Lopez added, “Things happen, you have to keep going,” sharing that the musical helped her cope with the end of their marriage.
· The pair actually reunited at the film’s New York premiere that night, where Affleck praised Lopez’s performance, saying she “worked enormously hard” and that audiences will get to see “all of her many gifts.”
· Kiss of the Spider Woman marks Lopez’s first full-scale musical, and she hinted that a Broadway version could be next.
