o    We’ve heard the rumors but now Billboard is reporting it…they say Katy Perry is planning a Las Vegas residency!

o    Sources tell them that the residency at The Theatre at Resorts World will start later this year and is expected to run into 2022.

o    The 5000 seat venue is being run in partnership with promoter AEG.

o    As a new mom, many say the deal is ideal so that she can still perform with limited travel.

o    The twice-weekly show will supposedly run for four months and will have a “circus them,” much like her last album, Smile, which was released last August.

#UNLV

o    The Men’s Basketball Team has a new Head Coach.

o    It’s former student-athlete and assistant coach, Kevin Kruger.

o    He’ll be introduced in a virtual press conference at 10am Monday.

o    He started his playing career at Arizona State and earned his criminal justice degree before transferring to UNLV where he played one season.

o    He was named All-Mountain West Third team and was named to the conference’s all-tournament team.

o    And if you’ve been in Las Vegas for a while, you likely remember his father, Lon Kruger, who coached the Runnin’ Rebels from 2004-2011 and made four NCAA Tournament appearances.

o    He posted a video sharing the news with his dad.

#ThickenedWater

o    It’s the new TikTok challenge that isn’t dangerous to the person doing it but could be harming others.

o    It has people running to drug stores to buy a thickened water called Thick-It.

o    It’s a water used by seniors or people with disabilities that have problems swallowing liquids without choking.

o    It is truly a lifeline for the people that need it and now they may be having a hard time finding it in stores since this trend is going viral.

o    There is also concern that, based on the reactions from people doing the challenge, the product will be seen as “gross,” bringing a stigma to it.

CerealStraws

o    Kellogg’s announced that they would be bringing back their famous Cereal Straws after 12 years off of store shelves and a customer petition urging the company to bring them back.

o    A change.org petition caught the attention of the company after the case was made for bringing them back, writing “"Froot Loops Cereal Straws were discontinued in 2009. People around the world seem to be nostalgic for this delicious treat from our childhood. Bringing back Fruit Loops Cereal Straws would bring joy to my generation and generations to come."

o    The snack will be offered in two iconic flavors: Kellogg’s Froot Loops and Kellogg’s Cocoa Krispies.

o    They will be available beginning in October.
