o The singer is being sued for copyright infringement over her hit song “Flowers.”
o She’s being sued by Tempo Music Investments, a company that actually owns a share of the copyright for the Bruno Mars song “When I Was Your Man.”
o They’re claiming that she intentionally copied Bruno and the proof is in the many musical similarities between each song.
o They also say that the song copies chord progressions and some of the lyrics too.
o She won a Grammy for the song and Tempo Music says, “It is undeniable based on the combination and number of similarities between the two recordings that ‘Flowers’ would not exist without ‘When I Was Your Man.”
o Bruno Mars is not involved in the lawsuit and many within music singles say that he “gave permission” for her to use his song for inspiration, although that has not been confirmed.
