Pete Davidson kicked off the 49th season of the show over the weekend.

The comedian opened the show with a tribute to the youngest victims of the war in Israel, saying that seeing the tragic slayings of Israeli and Palestinian civilians reminded him of when his father, a New York firefighter, was killed in the September 11th attacks.

He said, “I don’t understand it. I really don’t and I never will. But sometimes comedy is really the only way forward through tragedy. My heart is with everyone whose lives have been destroyed this week. But tonight, I’m gonna do what I’ve always done in the face of tragedy, and that’s try to be fun.”

He also jumped on the popularity of the Barbie movie and did a parody of “I’m Just Ken” called “I’m Just Pete.”

The show also featured cameos by Travis Kelce, appearing in a Fox NFL Sunday skit where the analysts began discussing his relationship with Taylor Swift, instead of football.

And speaking of Taylor, she introduced Ice Spice as the musical guest when she went on stage for her second performance.·

o   There's a new "movement taking Gen Z by storm" called "Silent Walking.”

o   So what is it?  It's going out for a walk and leaving your phone at home.

o   That's it, just walking without the distraction of a smartphone in your pocket and without listening to music or podcasts for at least 30 minutes.

o   It seems simple but it's hard to separate ANYONE from their phones these days, especially Gen Z.

o   The benefits to "silent walking" include:  Heightened senses, including hearing and smelling, mental boosts from clearer thinking, and in some areas, it's also safer, as you're more aware of your surroundings.
