· Sabrina Carpenter just announced her brand-new album Man’s Best Friend, and it’s dropping August 29th — exactly one year after Short n’ Sweet came out.
· This will be her seventh studio album and includes her recently released (and very quotable) lead single, “Manchild.”
· She made the announcement with a couple of photos on social — one of her kneeling dramatically in front of the camera and one of a dog wearing a necklace that says “Man’s Best Friend.”
· Now the big question: Is Taylor Swift on the album?
· Swifties are already in their “clown era,” but they might be onto something.
· First clue: The exact same day Sabrina announced her album, Taylor’s official merch store changed its font and it’s now using the same one Sabrina’s been using for her Manchild era.
· Second clue: The email Sabrina sent to fans announcing Man’s Best Friend had coffee rings on it — just like the email Taylor sent when she told fans she bought back her masters.
· As for Sabrina, she sent fans an email saying she didn’t plan on making an album, but life was “really happening” to her — and inspiration hit.
· She said this one came together easily, like “riding a bike,” and that she leaned into the music she grew up on — like Stevie, Dolly, and Donna Summer.
