A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces secured their place as one of the greatest teams in WNBA history.
The Aces became the first team to repeat as champions in 21 years, getting 24 points and 16 rebounds from Wilson and a defensive stop in the closing seconds to beat the New York Liberty 70-69 in Game 4 of the Finals on Wednesday night.
Las Vegas did it without starters Chelsea Gray and Kiah Stokes, who were both sidelined with foot injuries suffered in Game 3. Gray, the 2022 WNBA Finals MVP, was constantly in the ear of her teammates during timeouts and shouting encouragement from the sideline. Las Vegas was also still missing veteran Candace Parker, who had foot surgery in late July.
A’ja Wilson, the Finals MVP, is the first WNBA player to average at least 20 points and 10 boards in consecutive Finals runs. The only other player to do it once was Lisa Leslie.
Coach Becky Hammon said this was the closest team she has ever been around.
A celebration for the Champions is happening on Monday, October 23rd…details are still to come.

o Swifties! Get excited!
o Yesterday Taylor dropped a live version of the song “Cruel Summer.”
o The version was from one of her Eras Tour concerts in Los Angeles along with a remix of the song by LP Giobbi.
o She wrote, “What a truly mind blowing thing you’ve turned The Eras Tour Concert Film into. I’ve been watching videos of you guys in the theaters dancing and prancing and recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we’re known for ”
o She continued to show her gratitude by writing, “One of my favorite things you’ve done was when you supported Cruel Summer SO much, I ended up starting The Eras Tour show with it. For old times sake, I’m releasing the live audio from the tour so we can all shriek it in the comfort of our homes and cars PLUS a brand new remix by @lpgiobbi Thank you, so much, forever, wow, just thank you!!!”
o You can download both versions of “Cruel Summer” on iTunes now.
