· The first trailer for Wicked: For Good, the highly anticipated follow-up to the hit musical, just dropped alongside a limited theatrical rerelease of the original film.
· The new footage picks up with Oz in full panic mode: Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) is now in exile after defying the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) and being officially branded the Wicked Witch of the West.
· We see Elphaba speaking out against the Wizard while Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) is hot on her trail, and Glinda (Ariana Grande) grappling with what it really means to be “Glinda the Good.”
· The trailer’s soundtrack is all chills, featuring Grande and Erivo’s emotional duet of “For Good” (arguably the most iconic song from Act 2), and a taste of Erivo’s powerhouse “No Good Deed.”
· Dorothy Gale makes mysterious appearances—never showing her face, but popping up with the Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Cowardly Lion, hinting that this sequel will tie directly into The Wizard of Oz. Still no official casting for Dorothy.
· Director Jon M. Chu split the musical into two films, with the first ending right at intermission. This sequel, originally called “Wicked: Part Two,” is now officially Wicked: For Good.
· All your faves are back: Ariana Grande as Glinda, Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Marissa Bode as Nessarose, Ethan Slater as Boq.
· Plus, this movie promises TWO brand-new original songs—one for Elphaba, one for Glinda. (Erivo said one was so moving the crew was in tears on set.)
· The original Wicked made over $750 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing Broadway adaptation ever and snagging 10 Oscar nominations.
· Wicked: For Good flies into theaters November 21, 2025—almost exactly a year after the first film’s release.
