Over the weekend, honey Ted made me Gingerbread Cookie Syrup from a recipe that came out on a Thrillist Top 5 TikTok recipes list. He credits himself as a Fabulous Whisker. He really does know how to whip a mean sauce / syrup with a whisk in a pan on the stove. He's got more reducing patience than I do. The recipe comes from #thethriftwitch / Marissa on TikTok
Gingerbread Cookie Syrup (TikTok)
In a pot on the stove…
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup sugar
1 cup water
2 TBSP molasses
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
¼ tsp salt
Whisk / heat medium / reduce
Add ½ teaspoon vanilla / mix / take off heat/ cool and pour in jar / container. Put in hot chocolate, coffee, milk, waffles ... food you want sweet ginger tastes added to them.
*We added 2 TBSP of corn starch to make it a bit thicker. More syrup-y rather than watery.
It's worth the time to make. Especially yummy on pancakes / waffles. It's an add in my recipe box!

Bonus! Gingerbread house in real-life. How cool is this? Story behind it!
