It’s been an amazing year in music. "Duh."
Artists like Billie Eilish, Lizzo, and Lil Nas X helped change the game in 2019, shattering genre lines and leading the empowering charge for the next generation of artists. Taylor Swift brought back the love while Ariana Grande turned self-care and retail therapy into a set of smash hits. At the same time Beyoncé delivered another ambitious and inspiring project, and Vampire Weekend shared a double dose of maturity after 6 years away. From Rock to Hip Hop, from Luke Combs to Lana Del Rey, the list goes on. To say it has been a big and exciting year would be an understatement.
Now with the horses secured in the back and the “Juice” fully stocked, it’s time to start handing out some hardware for all of the achievements. We now know who will be nominated for the 62nd GRAMMY Awards, hosted once again by Alicia Keys on January 26.
It is time to get real as the race for GRAMMY gold has officially begun. Lizzo leads the way with nominations for 2020, with Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X close behind. Check out the list of nominees below for music’s biggest night.
