Recording Academy CEO, Harvey Mason jr., shared in a statement, “Trevor was amazing as our host for the 63rd Grammy Awards with praise from the music community, music fans and critics.” He added, “We’re so excited to welcome Trevor back to the Grammys stage and feel fortunate to once again have him hosting what we believe will be an unforgettable evening.”
The Daily Show host who succeeds his Comedy Central predecessor, Jon Stewart, will now have hosted as many GRAMMY ceremonies as Stewart. In 2001 and 2002 Stewart hosted the GRAMMYs consecutively.
Trevor is the fourth host ever to be asked to come back and take the stage for the second year in a row. He follows in the footsteps of LL Cool J, James Corden, and Alicia Keys.
The 2022 GRAMMYs will return to Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, formerly the Staples Center (as of December 25).
The 64th annual Grammy Awards will air live on both coasts on Monday, Jan. 31, from 8-11:30 p.m. ET/5-8:30 p.m. PT on CBS, and will be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+. Check out a complete list of nominees HERE.
