Not only do the three hosts of “Blue’s Clues” share an on screen bond, they’ve formed one off as well.
Steve Burns, Donovan Patton, and Joshua Dela Cruz all star in the current Paramount+ movie “Blue’s Big City Adventure,” a continuation of the popular children’s program. For which they’ve all been host of throughout its fun.
Speaking with PEOPLE, original host Burns said, “We really are friends. We actually do see each other socially. And we would be friends even if we weren’t on the show, I think, if we met.”
Patton took over as “Blue’s Clues” host from Steve, playing his younger brother as Steve went off to college in the show.
Burns said reuniting with the other hosts for the Paramount+ movie was “such a vacation.”
Dela Cruz was the final host of the popular children’s program when it went off the air in 2006. He loved having all three hosts together on the movie’s set.
“To be quite honest, it’s an easy day whenever Steve and Donovan are on set,” Deal Cruz said. “But in all honesty, there was so much FOMO that was happening when we were filming because up until the end of the movie we were not together.”
Patton also had the nicest things to say about the other two hosts and the experience of filming “Blue’s Big City Adventure.”
“I’m sandwiched in the middle of these two magnificent people in terms of my experience with the whole [franchise]. But the whole thing was pretty amazing,” Patton said. “We’re basically in a taxi cab with [Alex Winter of “Bill and Ted”] driving around doing our scenes. And I was like, ‘Keep it together. Just be cool!”
“We’re cousins on the show, and it’s like a family reunion every time we get together, but the family you love to see,” Dela Cruz said.
