Norton found out while guesting on PBS show “Finding Your Roots,” that Pocahontas was his 12th great-grandmother.

“I understand that was family lore,” host Henry Louis Gates tells the actor. “Well, it is absolutely true.”

The “Fight Club” actor, perplexed by how they could trace ancestry back that far was told it happened “through the paper trail.”

A record of Pocahontas and John Rolfe getting married on April 5, 1614 in Jamestown, Virginia was created at the time and along with other documents, the host said, Norton was connected to Pocahontas.

Putting how far back in time this was, Gates told Norton William Shakespeare was still alive at the time of the marriage.

“This just makes you realize what a small piece of the whole human story you are,” Norton said.

Norton most recently starred in the Netflix hit “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” currently streaming on the app.
