An arrest has been made in Sunday’s murder of 30-year-old actor Eddie Hassell in Grand Prairie.
Police have booked 18-year old D’Jon Antone on a charge of capital murder for the shooting outside an apartment complex. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
Police said they found Hassell suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
“We do know that his motive was robbery” said Det. Mark Beseda. “We know our victim was randomly targeted. He did not know who the victim was, had no association to him. In fact our suspect has no ties to Grand Prairie.”
Hassell, a native of Corsicana, was known for movies such as 'The Kids Are All Right' and 'Family Weekend.' He was also known for his recurring role on the NBC drama "Surface" and for his role on the Lifetime drama "Devious Maids." He also appeared in the 2013 film "Jobs" starring Ashton Kutcher.
