Now that Poison is set to hit the road with Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard and Joan Jett for one of the most anticipated summer tours of 2020, the “Nothin’ But a Good Time” band is thinking about new music.

Bret Michaels and company have actually been talking about it for a while, and now might be the time, even though fans probably shouldn’t expect a full album.

"I'm always working on brand new music, solo, and I think with Poison, it's time for at least a new song or two. I would love that,” Michaels said at the Hollywood Christmas Parade. “I don't think an entire album, but at least one song; I'd love to do that,” he added in an interview with Billboard last month. “It's definitely on the wish list."

Poison has not released an album of all new, original material since 2002’s Hollyweird, but they haven’t stopped touring – both as a band and Michaels on his own. Their catalog of party anthems like “Talk Dirty to Me” and “Unskinny Bop” and ballads like “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn” and “I Won’t Forget You” has been enough to sustain them.

Poison and Joan Jett will set the stage for co-headliners Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard on their stadium tour next year. Michaels said he’s excited to be part of the mini festival of hard rock heavyweights who owned the 80s.

“To be out there and not only have a great time playing the hits, having a party, engaging with the fans - and there’s three generations of amazing fans coming to see this stadium tour,” he said.

The tour kicks off July 7th in Miami and ends on September 5th in Inglewood, CA at the new SoFi Stadium. But Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has already hinted the trek could go on much longer than that.
