“I want to publicly apologize to my wife, Alexis, for humiliating her with my affair,” Allen shared in a new statement on social media. “I’m embarrassed that my choices have brought shame on her. That’s something she did not deserve at all.”
Alexis and Jimmie revealed their divorce in late April 2023, less than one month before allegations against Allen surfaced. Alexis is currently pregnant with the couple’s third child and helps mother Jimmie’s son from a previous relationship.
The statement continues, “I also want to apologize to my children for being a poor example of a man and a father. I’m working on becoming a better person that my kids can be proud of. My goal is to be better than the generation before me.”
Variety broke news of Allen’s adultery with an article detailing 18 months worth of alleged graphic sexual events shared by his former day-to-day manager who is filing the lawsuit against Jimmie. Allen is claiming the affair was “consensual.”
“This business takes so much from you,” he continued in his statement. “It’s full of temptations that can cripple you and ruin everything you’ve built. I’m ashamed that I wasn’t strong enough to withstand them. I will no longer be a victim of my weaknesses.”
Allen concluded by saying, “I challenge everyone to seek help when they need it. Do not be afraid of your weakness, surround yourself with people that WILL help you. Be Blessed.”
