GRAMMY-nominated R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer Jon B. recently joined Audacy Los Angeles 94.7 The Wave’s Liz Hernandez for a bit of chit chat and an in-studio performance of “They Don’t Know” and “Someone To Love.”
Ahead of his studio serenade, Jon and Liz talked Jon’s participation in the Stronger Together Eaton Fire Recovery Event. Jon who grew up in Altadena, shared how it’s “hard to put into words” what the “strong community," and “diverse neighborhood,” he grew up in has had to recently experience. Expressing that now it’s all about rebuilding and healing, and performing at an event aimed to aid just that is “the least I can do.”
“It hits in a very deep place, very real place, so, yeah, this is the least I could do. Yeah, it’s personal, the first place I ever performed at, the first stage I ever performed actually burned up at Elliott Junior High. I saw the stage and the remnants of what was there,” Jon shared.
Jon also talked about his new album, coming out March 21. With its release, Jon hopes to “just put good energy out there… into the world.”
