Being a Country mega-star like Luke Bryan comes with a lot of perks, but it also comes at the cost of a lot of gossip. After nearly 14 years as a big name on the airwaves, Luke is a pro at “brushing it off,” that is until he’s referred to as Maren Morris’ baby daddy.

Wait what? Yup, you heard us correctly. An article published by an overseas publication referred to Luke (who has been married to his college sweetheart Caroline for nearly 15 years) as the father of Maren’s child in a story about her post-pregnancy body.
Per WideOpenCountry.com the article read, "Earlier this month the hot mama, who gave birth to her first child with husband Luke Bryan in March 2020, shared a thoughtful post about her post-baby body."
Luke shared the moment he heard the “news” during his recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and you won’t believe who broke it to him.
“So, I was having coffee, and my mother calls me,” Luke shared. “She goes, ‘I’m sittin’ here readin’ some gossip thing… it says you fathered Maren Morris’ child.’” Luke replied, “I do not need this today.”
Is it awkward yet? Oh wait, it gets better. Maren’s husband, Country artist Ryan Hurd, is a songwriter on Luke’s most recent single, “Waves.” Luke immediately shared the article with Hurd saying, “Buddy, I think we need to talk.”
Immediately after sharing the story on Ellen (with some solid Luke chuckles along the way) he directly looked into the camera and said, I am not the father!”
We know Luke, no paternity test needed. Turns out the sentence published by The Sun was a misprint that, even after corrected will live on in history.
Morris and husband Ryan Hurd took the situation in stride posting to social media to poke fun at Luke. "I guess the cat's outta the [bag] @lukebryan," Maren posted on a screenshot of the article on her Instagram Story. Hurd replied by adding, "DAMN YOU @LUKEBRYAN I DEMAND A PATERNITY TEST."
