Moneybagg Yo is starting the new year fresh.

The “Scorpio” rapper took to social media and let fans know that he’s sober and cut out lean from his life. Moneybagg Yo opened up on Twitter about his decision and admitted that he was hesitant at first due to the fear that going sober would impede his creative process.
“I use to think being sober would f*** wit my creative process,” he wrote. “I see dats just a mind thing cuz I been more active skin glowing and I been dropping nun but pressure #NomoWockesha.”
The news comes just months after Moneybagg Yo released his fourth studio album A Gangsta’s Plan. The album featured the hit single “Wockesha,” which Moneybagg once called “the official lean anthem.”
“One minute I'm done with you, the next one I be runnin' back/Go your way, I go my way but somehow we be still attached,” he raps as he describes his addiction.
Earlier in 2021, NLE Choppa issued a challenge to rappers to put down the lean. “For Every Pint of Lean, Or Even Alcohol, Drink A Pint Of Chlorophyll,” he tweeted before personally calling out Moneybagg Yo.
“I Wanna Start By Challenging @MoneyBaggYo I’ll Bring This To You Personally Fam,” he said.
Moneybagg responded with a handshake emoji to accept his offer. Now that the calendar has turned to 2022, he’s made good on his promise.
